Steve Spurrier will return to Gainesville for the Sept. 2 season opener against Southern Mississippi where the 1996 National Championship team will be honored. “Obviously, a national championship is the memory of a lifetime,” Spurrier said Tuesday. “It’ll be wonderful to see the players. Of course, I feel like I owe it to those players to come back.”
