Early Season Injuries Beginning Adding up for Gonzaga
Gonzaga’s Heytvelt, Knight undergo surgery
The loss of forward Josh Heytvelt for most of the season leaves Gonzaga (No. 7 ESPN/USA Today, No. 6 AP) short of big men as the Zags prepare for a brutal stretch of games.
The 6-foot-11 Heytvelt suffered a broken ankle in a loss to Connecticut, and is not expected back until March.
Defensive stopper Erroll Knight is also sidelined as the Bulldogs face Portland State, Washington (ESPN/USA Today No. 19, No. 18 AP), Washington State, Oklahoma State and Virginia in the next 18 days.
