Sugar Bowl to be Played in Georgia Dome

The 2006 Sugar Bowl Classic will be played in the Geogia Dome on January 2. Hurricane Katrina forced the game out of New Orleans and the bowl’s committee has been deciding between Atlanta and Baton Rouge for the alternative site. A lack of hotel rooms in Baton Rouge ended the cities hopes of hosting the event.
The official announcement could come as soon as Friday.
The Geogia Dome will be a busy place with the Peach Bowl being played on Dec. 30th and the Atlanta Falcons playing there on Sunday, Jan. 1st.
Sugar Bowl officials expect to have the game back in New Orleans next season.
