George Washington’s Mensah-Bonsu out for regular season

The Associated Press is reporting George Washington’s center, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, is out for the rest of the regular season and perhaps more with a torn cartilage in his left knee.

“We hope to have him back in a couple of weeks,” coach Karl Hobbs said Thursday.

Mensah-Bonsu, the team’s second-leading scorer and rebounder, did not return after twisting his knee in the first half of Wednesday night’s 77-65 victory over La Salle.

Very disappointing for the Colonels and their 15 game win streak.
